Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors
You should not take Zyban if you have taken an MAOI within the past 14 days, due to the increased risk of dangerous side effects.
 
Nelfinavir
While it is thought that nelfinavir may interact with Zyban, there have been no reports of such an interaction in actual patients. To be safe, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely and may need to adjust your doses of these medications if you are taking them together.
 
Nicotine Patches
Taking Zyban while using nicotine patches can cause high blood pressure (hypertension). As a result, your healthcare provider should monitor your blood pressure if you are taking these medications together.
 
Orphenadrine
While it is thought that orphenadrine may interact with Zyban, there have been no reports of such an interaction in actual patients. If you are taking orphenadrine along with Zyban, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and may choose to adjust your doses of these medications.
 
Ritonavir
While it is thought that ritonavir may interact with Zyban, there have been no reports of such an interaction in actual patients. If you are taking ritonavir along with Zyban, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and may need to adjust your doses of these medications.
 
Steroids
Taking Zyban with intravenous (IV) or oral steroids can increase your risk of seizures. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Theophylline
Taking Zyban with theophylline can increase your risk of seizures. Talk with your healthcare provider before combining these medications.
