Zileuton CR
Zileuton CR is used to prevent asthma attacks. The medication is a type of leukotriene synthesis inhibitor that works by preventing certain chemicals (leukotrienes) from forming and inflaming the airways to the lungs. This asthma medication comes in the form of a tablet that is taken twice a day. Prior to taking zileuton CR, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have and any other medications you are taking.
Zileuton CR (Zyflo CR™) is a prescription medication used to prevent asthma attacks. It can be used in adults and children as young as 12 years old.

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with zileuton CR. However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. When zileuton CR side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
Common side effects of zileuton CR include, but are not limited to:
- Sinus infections
- Nausea
- Throat pain.
