Propranolol, theophylline, and warfarin may cause drug interactions with zileuton CR. These interactions can change the amount of the medications in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. To avoid these problems, your healthcare provider may monitor the level of the medications in your blood and, if necessary, adjust your dosages.

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when zileuton CR is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
 
Propranolol (Inderal, Inderal LA, InnoPran XL)
Taking zileuton CR with propranolol can increase the level of propranolol in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider should monitor your heart rate and blood pressure and decrease your propranolol dose if necessary.
 
Theophylline (Uniphyl, Theocron, TheoCap, Theo-24, Elixophyllin)
Taking theophylline with zileuton CR can increase the level of theophylline in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor the level of theophylline in your blood, especially when you are starting or stopping zileuton CR.
