What Are Triamcinolone Inhalers Used For? (Cont.)

Triamcinolone Inhaler Use in Children

The triamcinolone inhaler is approved to treat asthma in children six years of age and older. Young children usually require help using the triamcinolone inhaler correctly. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma. Inhaled steroids, such as the triamcinolone inhaler, may slightly slow the growth of children or teenagers.

Off-Label Uses of the Triamcinolone Inhaler

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend the triamcinolone inhaler for something other than preventing asthma attacks. At this time, using the triamcinolone inhaler to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an off-label use of the triamcinolone inhaler.
