Tobi Drug Interactions

Combining bisphosphonates, NSAIDs, or certain other drugs with Tobi may result in drug interactions. Some of these reactions may increase your risk for side effects or other complications, including kidney and ear problems. To reduce your risk for these problems, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of all other medications, vitamins, or supplements you are taking.

 

An Overview of Interactions With Tobi

Tobi® (tobramycin inhalation solution) can potentially react with several other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Tobi include but are not limited to:
       
  • Mannitol
  • Neuromuscular-blocking medications, such as:
    • Atracurium
    • Cisatracurium (Nimbex®)
    • Pancuronium
    • Rocuronium (Zemuron®)
    • Succinylcholine (Anectine®, Quelicin®)
    • Vecuronium (Norcuron®)
   
  • Other aminoglycoside antibiotics, such as:
    • Amikacin (Amikin®)
    • Gentamicin
    • Kanamycin (Kantrex®)
    • Neomycin (Neo-Fradin®)
    • Streptomycin
 
  • Vancomycin (Vancocin®).
