Who Should Not Take Tiotropium?

You should not take tiotropium if you are allergic to tiotropium, Spiriva, or any inactive components used to make tiotropium. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients. Also, you should not take tiotropium if you are allergic to similar medications, such as ipratropium (Atrovent®) or atropine.
