Revatio 20 mg Tablets

If you have pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a healthcare provider may recommend taking a 20-mg Revatio^® (sildenafil citrate) tablet three times daily, with about four to six hours between doses. This is the standard dosage amount for everyone, regardless of age or weight. There is also an intravenous injectable form of the medication available; although it comes in a lower strength, it is believed to provide the same effect as the 20-mg oral dose.

 

Research has shown that dosages higher than 20 mg three times a day do not increase the effectiveness of Revatio, but do increase the risk of side effects. Revatio has not been studied at dosages lower than 20 mg three times a day, so it is unknown if lower doses are as effective as the standard dose.

 

For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. Do not increase your dose without your healthcare provider's approval.
