Recovery From Pulmonary Embolism: Treatment Length

Treatment for pulmonary embolism usually lasts up to six months. Throughout your pulmonary embolism treatment you should continue to:

Work to prevent DVT (see Pulmonary Embolism Prevention)

Check your legs for any signs or symptoms of DVT (see Symptoms of Pulmonary Embolism)

Be aware of DVT symptoms and pulmonary symptoms (see Symptoms of Pulmonary Embolism).
