Strengths Nicotine Gum Comes In
Nicotine gum (Nicorette® Gum) is a nonprescription medication used for smoking cessation (to help people stop smoking). The 12-week treatment plan involves chewing a piece of gum every one to eight hours and slowly decreasing the amount of gum you chew each day. This helps reduce nicotine withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
Nicotine Gum comes in two strengths: 2 mg and 4 mg. The strength you use will depend on how many cigarettes you smoke each day. For example, if you smoke at least 25 cigarettes a day, you should use the 4-mg strength. You should use this same strength throughout the full 12-week period.
