What Are Mometasone Inhalers Used For?

Mometasone Inhaler Use in Children

The mometasone inhaler is approved to treat asthma in children 12 years of age and older. Young children usually require help using the mometasone inhaler correctly. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma. Inhaled steroids, such as the mometasone inhaler, may slightly slow the growth of children or teenagers.

Off-Label Uses of the Mometasone Inhaler

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend the mometasone inhaler for something other than preventing asthma attacks. At this time, the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an off-label use of the medication.
