Side Effects of Mometasone Inhalers to Report

There are a number of possible side effects with mometasone inhalers that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Worsening of asthma
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, hives, itching, and unexplained swelling.
     

Less Common Side Effects of Mometasone Inhalers

There are other side effects of mometasone inhalers that occur less frequently. These side effects occur in 3 percent or less of people taking the medication. In the case of these possible side effects, it can be difficult to tell whether the side effect is actually caused by the mometasone inhaler or factors unrelated to the medication.

Final Thoughts on Side Effects of Mometasone Inhalers

It is possible that you may experience some or none of the side effects explained above. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while taking the mometasone inhaler. Also let your healthcare provider know if you develop something that "just does not seem right" during treatment with the mometasone inhaler. While it may not be a side effect of mometasone inhalers, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
