Mometasone/Formoterol

Mometasone/formoterol is prescribed to control asthma and prevent asthma symptoms; it works by opening up the airways in the lungs. This medication comes in the form of an inhaler and is typically used twice a day. Because this is not a fast-acting medication, make sure you have a rescue inhaler for emergencies. Side effects may include inflammation of the nose, throat, or sinuses.

What Is Mometasone/Formoterol?

Mometasone/formoterol (Dulera®) is a prescription medication licensed to treat asthma. It is used to control asthma and prevent asthma symptoms from occurring.

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, mometasone/formoterol can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the medicine will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
 
Some of the most common side effects of mometasone/formoterol include but are not limited to:
 
  • Inflammation or swelling of the nose or throat
  • Inflammation of the sinuses
  • Headaches.
     
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
