If you smoke more than 10 cigarettes each day, the recommended initial dosage of Nicoderm® CQ® (nicotine patch) is one 21-mg patch applied every 24 hours for six weeks. After six weeks, you should apply one 14-mg patch every day for two weeks. For the final two weeks, you will use one 7-mg patch each day.
In general, it is recommended that Nicoderm CQ be used for no longer than 8 to 10 weeks. However, some people may need to continue to use the patch for a longer period of time. If you feel that you still crave cigarettes after you complete Nicoderm CQ treatment, talk to your healthcare provider.
