Fortaz® (ceftazidime) is an antibiotic given by injection, either into a muscle or by IV. This medication is typically used to treat serious or potentially serious infections, such as:
Fortaz is approved for both children and adults. Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable in every situation, and there are many safety issues to be aware of before starting treatment.
