What Is Formoterol Solution?

Formoterol solution (Perforomist™) is a prescription medication used to prevent airway spasms caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a lung disease that includes both chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
 
Formoterol solution is used in a nebulizer, a device that changes liquid medications into fine droplets that are inhaled into the lungs.

Side Effects of Formoterol Solution

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with formoterol solution. However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. When side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
 
Common side effects of formoterol solution include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Irritated nose and throat
