Who Should Not Take This Medication?

You should avoid amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium XR if you:
  • Are allergic to it, to amoxicillin, to clavulanate potassium, or to any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients used to make this product.
  • Are allergic to penicillin.
  • Have had liver problems due to amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium XR in the past.
  • Have severe kidney dysfunction and/or are on dialysis.
