Tobi Nebulizer Information

Tobi® (tobramycin inhalation solution) is an antibiotic prescribed to treat an infection caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria in people who have cystic fibrosis. This medication comes as a liquid that is turned into a mist, using an air compressor and nebulizer. Before using Tobi, review the drug's safety information with your healthcare provider, especially if you have hearing problems, kidney disease, or a disorder that affects your muscles. Also, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of all medications, supplements, and vitamins you are taking.

Dosing for Tobi is standard for everyone -- one ampule (300 mg per 5 mL inhaled solution) inhaled twice daily, with about 12 hours between doses. You will use Tobi for 28 days, followed by a 28-day break before you start your next 28-day treatment cycle.
