Drug Interactions With Linezolid
Combining linezolid with cyclobenzaprine may increase your risk of dangerous side effects, such as severe hypertension (high blood pressure) or serotonin syndrome, a potentially life-threatening reaction (see Precautions and Warnings With Linezolid for more information). If you take these drugs together, your healthcare provider will need to monitor you more closely.
There have been a few reports of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in people taking linezolid along with diabetes medications (including insulin medications and oral diabetes medications). Although a direct cause-and-effect relationship has not been established (it is possible that the low blood sugar was not caused by linezolid), it is still a good idea to be cautious. You might want to check your blood sugar more often while taking linezolid.
There is some evidence that taking disulfiram with linezolid may cause dangerous central nervous system (CNS) side effects, such as extreme confusion, feeling disoriented, and seeing things that are not really there (visual hallucinations). Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
Taking linezolid with levodopa medications may cause dangerous side effects, such as high blood pressure (hypertension). If you must take these medications together, your healthcare provider will need to monitor you closely.
