Ipatropium Bromide

Ipratropium bromide (Atrovent®) is available by prescription and is used to treat several conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and a runny nose. As part of a class of drugs known as anticholinergics, ipratropium works by decreasing the amount of fluid production in the nasal passages and by opening up the airways to the lungs. Ipratropium is not suitable for everyone. A few of the conditions you should let your healthcare provider know about before taking the medication include glaucoma, a bladder problem, or an enlarged prostate.
