Intal Dosage

For adults and children ages five and older who are using the inhaler form of Intal, dosage typically starts at two inhalations four times a day. The inhaler can also be used 10 to 15 minutes before exposure to allergens or exercise to prevent predictable asthma attacks. The recommended starting dose of Intal nebulizer solution is one vial (inhaled using a nebulizer) four times a day.

Intal Dosage: An Introduction

Intal^® (cromolyn inhalation) is a prescription medication used to prevent asthma attacks. Intal comes in two forms: the Intal inhaler and Intal nebulizer solution, which is inhaled using a nebulizer (a device that changes liquid medications into fine droplets that are inhaled into the lungs).

The dose of Intal that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:

Your age
Whether you are using Intal nebulizer solution or the Intal inhaler
The severity of your asthma
Other medications you may be taking.

As is always the case, do not adjust your Intal dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

Intal Inhaler Dosing

For adults and children age five and older, the recommended starting dose of Intal for asthma is two inhalations four times daily (taken on a regular basis). Lower dosages may be sufficient for young children.

For preventing predictable asthma attacks (such as those due to exercise, cold air, or exposure to an allergen), the recommended dose is two inhalations of Intal 10 to 15 minutes before the anticipated attack.
