Fortaz Injection Site

Fortaz® (ceftazidime) is a prescription drug used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia and urinary tract infections (UTIs). This medication can be injected into a muscle (intramuscularly) or given intravenously (by IV). When given intramuscularly, a large muscle, such as the gluteus maximus, is used as the site of the injection. In general, the more serious the infection, the higher and more frequent the dose.
