Drug Interactions With the Ciclesonide Inhaler
If aldesleukin, atazanavir, or certain other medicines are taken with the ciclesonide inhaler, drug interactions could occur. These reactions can potentially increase your risk of side effects and change the levels of medication in your blood. To help ensure your safety and reduce the risk of such problems, tell your healthcare provider about all of your current medications.
An Overview of Ciclesonide Inhaler Interactions
The ciclesonide inhaler (Alvesco®) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the products that may lead to drug interactions with the ciclesonide inhaler include but are not limited to:- Aldesleukin (Proleukin®)
- CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
- Amprenavir (Agenerase®)
- Atazanavir (Reyataz®)
- Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
- Conivaptan (Vaprisol®)
- Darunavir (Prezista®)
- Delavirdine (Rescriptor®)
- Erythromycin
- Fosamprenavir (Lexiva®)
- Imatinib (Gleevec®)
- Indinavir (Crixivan®)
- Isoniazid
- Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
- Lopinavir and ritonavir (Kaletra®)
- Miconazole
- Nefazodone (Serzone)
- Nelfinavir (Viracept®)
- Nicardipine (Cardene®)
- Posaconazole (Noxafil®)
- Quinidine
- Ritonavir (Norvir®)
- Saquinavir (Fortovase®, Invirase®)
- Telithromycin (Ketek®)
- Voriconazole (VFEND®).
