Amoxicillin/Clavulanate Potassium XR

Amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium XR is a drug used to treat certain types of sinus infections and pneumonia. This long-acting antibiotic comes in the form of a tablet and is usually taken twice a day. The most common side effects include diarrhea and vaginal yeast infections; however, it is generally well tolerated.

What Is Amoxicillin/Clavulanate Potassium XR?

Amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium XR (Augmentin XR®) is a prescription antibiotic approved to treat sinus infections and pneumonia caused by certain types of bacteria. It is a long-acting version of Augmentin that is taken twice a day.

Are There Side Effects?

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium XR . However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems.
